The League of Heroes got it's name from the League of Assassins.
At first, Talia refuses Thea's proposal due to the former's previous betrayals but Thea dismisses those as mistakes making Talia accept her offer. She then offered Talia the opportunity to build this new League alongside her. As the new Ra's, Thea Queen suggested to Talia al Ghul that they should rebrand the group to become heroes instead of assassins. In the aftermath, Athena and the Guild died when the catacombs containing the sword caved in on itself. Thea managed to gain the upper hand, forcing Talia to either surrender or be killed. The three were able to escape Athena, with Thea using her kinship with Malcolm Merlyn to duel Talia for the mantle.
